Crashing this project... WITH NO SURVIVORS.

If for some odd reason you've been following this blog, you may have noticed that I haven't posted any progress on building my computer. That's because I haven't made any! Aside from picking a new set of parts, I haven't bought any parts or even begun to build a computer. Trouble at home prevented me from getting the money I need. So now I have nothing but a list of parts to show for. Maybe I'll get the parts for a birthday present (in July), I dunno.

But even though I screwed the pooch this year, I still think that what happened last year was far, far worse, so I don't feel too bad about getting nothing done.

The entire script of Commando

I finally got my parts picked out.

Ram: Mushkin Stealth 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory - $65.99
Graphics: MSI N660 TF 2GD5 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - $179.99
Processor: AMD FX-4300 Vishera Quad-Core 3.8GHz (4.0GHz) Socket AM3+ 95W Desktop Processor - $105.99
Hard Drive: Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive - $53.98
Motherboard: ASRock 880GM-LE FX Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard - $47.49
Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case - $34.99
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply - $44.99
Optical Drive: ASUS 24X DVD Burner - Bulk 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS - OEM - $19.99
Monitor: Asus VE228H 21.5" Full HD HDMI LED BackLight LCD Monitor w/Speakers ASCR 10,000,000:1 - $139.99
OS: Windows 8 - $119.99

TOTAL COST: $743.41

It went a bit over my budget of $700, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I mean, worst case scenario, I won't have enough and just have to cheap out on the OS (I'd probably just install the free SteamOS, which I think can only run Linux-compatible games). Not a big deal.

EDIT: Swapped out some parts for better ones.

I've also been advised to look into my motherboard further, as I don't really know too much about it.

Git Gud

So this year I decided to not be a whiny bi... uh... let me rephrase this. This year I decided not to get all choked up about how "awful" my project is and actually start posting good.

Hopefully it pays off.

That's it.

i have no idea how to post good oh god
